Rigorous Coursework

To ensure college preparedness, Marine Military Academy offers rigorous coursework that includes Advanced Placement and Honors classes.
Elite Military High School

As a college-preparatory school, we provide cadets with a challenging curriculum that exceeds national standards. Cadets benefit from a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio designed to stimulate and inspire academic excellence.

This structured and regimented environment has also proven to be a tremendous learning benefit to good boys who are easily distracted or unmotivated.

Our accelerated program and highly structured educational environment provides cadets with a solid academic foundation and boasts a 100% college acceptance rate year after year.

In order to graduate, cadets must earn a total of 26 academic credits. The credits must include four in each of the following: English, mathematics, science and social science; two in a foreign language; one in computer technology; a half-credit each in English composition, health, and speech (see Special Programs); as well as five and a half elective credits, which includes Military Science.

Advanced Placement (AP)

Advanced Placement, or AP courses, are the most demanding classes offered at MMA and are taught at the college level. They involve a greater commitment of time and effort than our standard curriculum. Cadets who are accepted into the program have the opportunity to earn college credit during their high school career upon successful completion of the College Board administered AP exam.

Dual Enrollment

Our Dual Enrollment program allows students to earn college credit while still in high school. This allows a student to have a head start on college and lower the overall cost of a college degree. We partner with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and McMurry University to offer dual-enrollment credit.

Honors Courses

MMA's Honors courses parallel the curriculum offered in standard classes but are more challenging as they cover topics in greater depth and breadth, are faster paced, and enhance critical thinking skills.
